For Laura Kauffman, exceptional interior design is more than just creating beautiful spaces—it’s about empowering you to express yourself in ways you might not have imagined, discovering the joy we all seek from our places of refuge.
“Our homes and spaces are an integral part of our health and mental well-being,” says Laura. “We find comfort and peace in those places. They are part of our lifeline.”
The first step for Laura is always the same—understanding the individual needs of each client. That means going beyond the whats and into the whys. “The most important part of any job for me is spending time with people,” says Laura. “It’s not about meeting a person at a shop to look at furniture or accessories. It’s one thing to ask a person what they like when it comes to colors or designs—but I want to know about who you are. In order for me to do my job, which is to create spaces that are a reflection of you, I want to know what matters to you. I want you to be able to look around your space and see yourself. I am there to just help you think out of the box and help you get your foundation right.”
Because design is so integral to our lives, Laura believes that everyone should have access to a designer. “It’s important for everybody to have joy in their home and love their home. We all deserve to feel good about our spaces. I never want anyone to think they can’t use a designer. And in the end, utilizing an experienced designer will help you have money. I want to make sure that what I do pays for itself. I am going to help you make the best decisions. I have plenty of resources so that we can look at all the options available.”
With over 20 years of experience, Laura not only holds design as a natural instinct, she brings with her a team of professionals to complete any project. From vendors to contractors, Laura has built a strong network. “When I am on a project, I might be the designer,” she says, “but there are so many other people involved. I am a team member working for you. And I get to see all these people use their gifts and see their personal expressions. It’s exciting.”
In the end, all of Laura’s education, expertise, and experience are drawn together by her passion for affecting a positive change in the lives of others. “I can’t imagine doing anything else,” she says. “This is the love of my life. I am lucky and so grateful for the many opportunities I’ve had. I’ve seen so many dreams come to life.”
