Meet the Designer

My Experience: I have 28 years of experience in both residential and commercial design consultation and project coordination. I’m proud and fortunate to say that some of my commercial designs are cornerstones of many communities — local banks, churches, and schools (public and private), as well as notable shopping centers and businesses in the region. I have been honored to help convert countless houses into homes for my clients, helping bring their vision to life for the home their families will create cherished memories in for years to come.

My Philosophy: I believe that interior design is more than just creating beautiful spaces. It’s about empowering you to express yourself in ways you might not have imagined, discovering the joy we all seek from our places of refuge. We find comfort and peace in those places. They are part of our lifeline.

Why Interior Design Matters: It’s important for everybody to have joy in their home and love their home. We all deserve to feel good about our spaces. I never want anyone to think they can’t use a designer. And in the end, utilizing an experienced designer will help you save money. I want to make sure that what I do pays for itself. I am going to help you make the best decisions. I have plenty of resources so that we can look at all the options available.

My Process: The first step for me is always the same — understanding the individual needs of each client. That means going beyond the whats and into the whys. The most important part of any job for me is spending time with people. It’s not about meeting a person at a shop to look at furniture or accessories. I want to know who you are. In order for me to create spaces that are a reflection of you, I want to know what matters to you. I want you to be able to look around your space and see yourself.

This work is my passion. I am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had, projects I’ve worked on, homes I’ve helped build, and friendships I’ve made in the last 28 years. I can’t imagine doing anything else. I’m excited for what the future holds for Laura Kauffman Design.
